Kudos to SOITA! I have been very impressed with the class I am taking on SmartBoards at SOITA in Franklin, OH. It is a three day class for which I will present something I have created to use in my classroom utilizing the Smart Notebook 10 software. I see now why our science teacher LOVES his SmartBoard. It is so cool.
As I tried to create a notebook file, I found I was stuck in presentation mode. The interactivity of the SmartBoard really transforms learning. I had to think beyond the just show the kids, but I took advantage of the interative tools to create word sorts. The kids will be up and out of their seats. I am anxious to get back to my classroom to see how the notebook software will work with my 3M projector.
How would this be any different than doing a word sort with paper signs?

It isn't any different than a paper version, but the kids are decieved by the technology. I feel the technology is an instant hook.
