Blackboard...

I worked today to best understand how to manage Blackboard courses as an individual. For years, we have handled Bb as a team. The district's tech expectations are moving people to an individual approach. No rush, but people seem ready and willing. Of course, some more than others. However, the course creation seems dictated by the database system, therefore teachers with leveled classes cannot have a general English or math class, but one course per level. I feel people should move toward individualizing materials for each individual class, however that seems too much for some to take on.

And, the debate continues on yammer about whether or not a blog inside Bb is the best approach. Will Richardson encouraged us to remain transparent, while some feel Bb offers that protected environment. I am torn.
